Week 1️⃣

A Saniderm bandage will be applied at your appointment.

  • Keep the wrap on for 5–7 days to protect the tattoo and support proper healing.

  • It is normal to see excess blood, plasma, and ink under the bandage. This is part of the healing process and will wash away once removed.

  • Do not remove the wrap early, as this may expose the tattoo to bacteria, friction, and moisture.

  • You may shower with the wrap on, but avoid scrubbing or rubbing the edges.

  • If the tattoo itches, gently pat or tap the area. Do not scratch.

  • Avoid intense physical activity during the first week, as excessive sweating may interfere with healing.

👉🏽 Removing the Saniderm

After 5–7 days, remove the bandage slowly under warm running water. Do not pull it off dry or rip it away from the skin.

Once removed:

  1. Gently wash the tattoo with warm water and fragrance-free antibacterial soap.

  2. Rinse thoroughly.

  3. Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Do not use a bath towel.

Week 2️⃣

👉🏽 A&D moisturizing instructions:

  • Apply A&D ointment twice a day after cleaning the area.

  • Use a very thin layer — a little goes a long way. Over-application can suffocate the tattoo.

  • Do not use Neosporin, Vaseline, or Aquaphor as these have more chemicals and could fade your tattoo over time.

  • If you run out of A&D, purchase more (available at most drugstores for $2-$3).

👉🏽 things to keep in mind:

  • When showering, avoid prolonged direct water contact on the tattoo. Clean it gently and dry it promptly.

  • Avoid swimming and direct sun exposure for at least 7 days after removing the wrap.

  • Continue applying A&D as needed for at least one week.

  • Wear clean clothing, especially over the tattooed area.

  • Do not pick or scratch peeling or scabbing skin. Allow it to heal naturally.

Proper healing is your responsibility. Following these instructions carefully will help ensure your tattoo heals cleanly and looks its best long-term.
